But there are also a few things you can do to help us speed your mortgage to closing.
- Make sure your loan application is complete and accurate. Your Equity Now Loan Officer will walk you through it and do most of the paperwork. Do not embellish your employment history or your income. That will just lengthen the process. Give your loan officer an honest accounting of your situation and rely on him to get you the right loan and get you to the closing table quickly.
- Be prepared with all necessary documents that you may need and keep them all in one place for easy access (tax returns, W2 forms, pay-stubs, bankruptcy papers (if applicable), asset statements, etc.).
- If you have had any derogatory credit experiences or missed a few payments for any reason, have an explanation ready. We can help, but you will need to provide us with this information.
- Please respond promptly to requests for any additional information. The faster you can get back to us the faster we can get you to closing.
- Make sure you respond to the appraiser and let them into your home as soon as possible. The appraisal is often the most time-consuming part of the whole process, and the sooner he or she can get into your home and appraise it the quicker we can get your loan to closing.
